News Releases Aetna Tops FORTUNE‘s List Of America‘s Most Admired Companies Among Health Care Insurers HARTFORD, Conn., March 03, 2008 — Aetna Inc. (NYSE: AET) today announced that it has been selected by FORTUNE Magazine as the most admired company in the Health Care: Insurance and Managed Care category for 2008. The publication ranks companies in various industry sectors in eight categories, according to their peers. Aetna achieved the highest overall ranking among its peers by placing first in people management, quality of management, quality of products/services and use of corporate assets. It ranked second in innovation, social responsibility, financial soundness and long-term investment. "This ranking is a tribute to the quality and hard work of our employees, who put the people who use our services at the center of everything we do," said Ronald A. Williams, chairman and CEO. Aetna, which finished second in the Health Care: Insurance and Managed Care category in 2006 and 2007, finished ahead of WellPoint, UnitedHealth Group, Humana and Health Net. A total of 622 companies in 65 industries were surveyed. Apple was ranked the top company overall.
